Copywrite Info

Traditionally in photography when a photographer takes an image for anotherindividual, even if paid to do so, the photographer will retain all rights to the photograph including usage rights. many photographers use this to their advantage so that they can turn around and sell the photos at a higher rate should a real estate agent wish to use the photos for anything other than placing them in the MLS such as in any print, video, or other advertising to make more off of the sale of the photos. Occassionally the photographer will also resell the photos to another agent should the listing expire and the client switch agents.

We do things a little differently. When we go through and take photos of a property, we understand that the agent or broker listing a property may wish to use the photos through other avenues to advertise their listings, and we encourage you to do so. After all, thats what a good real estate agent does. All of the photos that we take are placed under a creative commons license. This license allows anyone to use the photos in anyway they wish as long as they give credit to us for the photos used (i.e. "Image Credit Tyler Home Photography"). We also understand that the MLS isn't very friendly towards photographers, so when posting to the MLS we don't require you to place a credit on the photos (although we would love it if you mention us in the description).
